A senior citizen, he is often cranky. One of his previous owners fed him such a poor diet that his beak was nearly transparent. Although he is much healthier today he still hasn't regained enough strength to crack many of the nuts macaws enjoy eating. Another owner pulled his tail feathers to give to people, so he is very sensitive about people touching his tail. |
| Indigo Species: Hyacinth Macaw Gender: Female Age: 8 Been at MVBH Since: |
Indigo came to MVBH because she was considered too small to breed and was going to be put down. Although she is small for a Hyacinth Macaw she is still the largest parrot at the sanctuary. She loves destroying and disassembling anything she can get her beak on! She is also very scared of small birds like Squeekie! |
| Molly Species: Blue and Gold Macaw Gender: Female Age: 30 Been at MVBH Since: 2003 |
Molly was left alone in an apartment for a month and survived by drinking toilet water and eating her own feathers. She has very few feathers on her chest because of what she was forced to do. She doesn't get along well with the other birds but likes individual attention. |
